Ascension Lutheran has a secure, automated option for your offering to the general fund or specified ministry. Your gift is automatically deducted from your checking or savings account on a one-time or recurring  basis.

Ascension Lutheran Designated Funds​ 

Building and Grounds Improvements Fund – Contributions are used for building repairs or replacement needs. 

Endowment Fund – Contributions provide for mission work beyond the congregation operational budget.

Food for Backpacks – As part of the community effort, Ascension supports over 70 food insecure elementary school students at Sibley Elementary School.

Good Earth Village – Contributions benefit Good Earth Village: a summer camp, faith leadership facility, and retreat center. They are excited to share what it means to live as a Christian leader. 

Organ Fund – Contributions fund future organ improvements.

Parking Lot Fund – Contributions fund parking lot maintenance and improvements.

Scholarship Fund – Contributions fund scholarships for students pursuing higher education. 

ELCA World Hunger – ELCA World Hunger works to address hunger both locally and globally.

Youth Fund – Contributions are used for youth activities.

Special Monthly Emphasis

Each month the Stewardship Committee highlights a Giving Outreach for special emphasis.  The following are examples of past monthly highlights.

ELCA Mission Support – Locally, contributions support programs and staff of the Southeast Minnesota Synod.  Globally, offerings support medical missions teams and missionaries.

ELCA World Hunger – ELCA World Hunger works to address hunger both locally and globally.

Salvation Army – Congregations in Freeborn County refer individuals in need of groceries, rent assistance, payment of bills, etc., to the Salvation Army.

Lutheran World Relief –  Globally, Lutheran World Relief provides aid in emergencies, helps families restore their lives, helps build communities and grow rural economies.

St. John’s Lutheran Community –  St. John’s consists of two communities in Albert Lea. St. John’s is home to many seniors that receive short-term care, skilled-nursing care, independent living, assisted-living and memory care services.

Lutheran Social Services –   LSS offers community services such as financial or family counseling, housing and care for youth in crisis or those with disabilities, adoption services, and services or support for veterans.

Albert Lea Food Shelves – The Salvation Army Food Shelf is an outreach of the local Salvation Army Church.  The Ecumenical Food Shelf is an interfaith organization housed in First Presbyterian Church, Albert Lea.

Ascension’s Ministry – Gifts support the many facets of Ascension’s local and global ministries to families, youth, and adults.

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service – LIRS is the largest faith-based nonprofit in the U.S. dedicated to serving vulnerable immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees.

Campus Ministry – This ministry sustains a place for students to experience community, explore their faith, engage in service, and develop skills to emerge as future leaders of the church and the world.
